This embedded project uses an Arduino and an ultrasonic distance sensor to detect when mail has been delivered to a standard mailbox. When the distance reading inside the mailbox changes beyond a calibrated threshold, it indicates the presence of new mail. The device was designed for simplicity, low power usage, and reliable operation in typical residential mailboxes.
